Ruby Hazel Keefer

Ruby Hazel Burkett Keefer, 90, of North Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Henry Isadore Keefer passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Her Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 3, 2014 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Ruby Hazel was born June 12, 1923 in Pike County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Everett Burkett and Bess Goble Burkett. She was dedicated to her loving family and cherished her role as a great mom.

She is survived by four sons, Terry Keefer and his wife, Hazel of Summerville, SC, Jerry Keefer and his wife, Pamela of Ridgeville, SC, Greg Keefer and his wife, Jane of Cross, SC, Larry Keefer and his wife, Sandra of Hanahan, SC; two daughters, Linda Hair and her husband, Dennis of North Charleston, SC, and Sharon Eade of Summerville, SC; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Betty Compton of Pikeville, KY; and her two half brothers, Donnie Burke of Martin, KY and Jay Burke of Pikeville, KY. She was preceded in death by her son, Henry Roger Keefer, and her daughter, Kathy Woudwyk.
