Ruby Hucks Cooper, 94, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Lonnie Eugene Cooper, entered into eternal rest Sunday, August 25, 2019.The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 27, 2019 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Private burial will be held in Live Oak Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Ruby was born August 19, 1925 in Conway, South Carolina, daughter of the late Benjamin Tillman Hucks and Roxie Jordan Hucks. She was a homemaker, a great wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family, her church, Essex Village Church of Christ, where she was a member for 52 years. She enjoyed her soap operas and was a delightful resident at the Carter May Home. She traveled to many places with her husband during his Air Force career.
She is survived by her daughter, Paulette C. Bruhn (Steve) of Moncks Corner, SC; son, Kenneth G. Cooper of Charleston, SC; daughter, Marsha C. Busche (Eugene) of Mount Pleasant, SC; sister, Barbara Atkins of Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Dorothy H. Edwards of Aynor, SC; brother, Billy R. Hucks of Columbia, SC; sister, Pat Richardson of Conway, SC; sister, Carole H. Ulisano (Fred) of Garden City, SC; nine grandchildren, Lorri Ochrymowich, Dana Bruhn, Larry Cooper, Jr., Michael Bruhn, Collin Cooper, Emily Ross, Tradd Cooper, Elizabeth Ross and Jordan Cooper; sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry E. Cooper.
