Rozolita Mikulinsky, 77, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Her Graveside Service will be held Sunday, December 22, 2024 in the Emanu-El Cemetery (Maryville), Sycamore Avenue at 12:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
Rozolita was born May 7, 1947 in St. Petersburg, Russia, to Ganna and Avraam Mikulinsky. She started playing violin at age 3 and had her first performance at the age of 6. After graduating the St. Peterburg Conservatory, where she met her husband of 50 years, Alex Agrest, she stayed on as faculty. Upon arrival to the US, Roza joined the Charleston Symphony Orchestra where she played for 20 years as a Violinist. She also played many chamber concerts and solo performances around the world. Rozolita enjoyed playing violin, teaching students, and using social media to communicate with childhood friends across the globe. She strived to help any one she could and was solely responsible for helping almost 30 relatives immigrate from the Soviet Union to the United States. Rozolita was very proud to be Jewish and wanted all her children and grandchildren to receive a Jewish education as well as a musical education.
She loved her family very much and is survived by her husband of 50 years Alexander Agrest; her son, Mikhail (Jelena); daughter, Eliza (Vladimir); and grandchildren, Carolina, Daniel, Gabi, Ariel, and Robert. You can make donations in her honor to Addlestone Hebrew Academy or any organization that supports children's musical education.
May her memory be a blessing.
