Entered into eternal rest on the evening of Thursday January 26, 2012, Roy Lee "Woody" Woodson, Jr., of Charleston. The relatives and friends of Woody Woodson are invited to attend his funeral service Monday, January 30, 2012 in Ashley River Baptist Church 2pm . Interment services will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL (3360 Glenn McConnell Pwky.) from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm

Woody was born January 27, 1928 in Richmond, Virginia the son of Roy Woodson Sr. and Sally Wuest Woodson. He was a very active member of Ashley River Baptist Church. Mr. Woodson retired as the Plant Superintendent for Swift Premium Company after 35 years of service. He served in the US Army during World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Malone (Michael) of Orlando, Florida; one son, Michael Roy Woodson (Patricia) of Coral Springs, Florida; two step-daughters, Leslie Shields (Tom Fullmore) of Charleston and Lew Ann Litchfield (Michael) of Kingsland, Georgia; one step-son, Lawrence Paul Byrd (Jun) of Kingsland, Georgia; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. One brother, Charles E. Woodson and one sister, Irene Polson preceded Mr.Woodson in death.
