Roy Spain

Entered into eternal rest on the evening of September 7, 2010, Roy Spain, husband of Lucile Herron Spain.  Residence, Johns Island, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Spain are invited to attend his funeral service at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Friday, September 10, 2010, at eleven o'clock.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel this Thursday afternoon from five until seven o'clock. 

Mr. Spain was born on November 21, 1917 in Washington, Georgia, son of the late Joseph P. Spain and Sarah Anderson Spain.  He served in the United States Marine Corp and was a retired welder having served 43 years with the Charleston Naval Shipyard. 

Surviving are his wife Lucile of Johns Island; two sons, Roy Spain, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Johns Island, Forrest Spain of Johns Island; two daughters, Ruth Harris of Homer, GA, Martha Postell and her husband James of Snellville, GA; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
