Roy Fry, 56, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Jackie Luna Fry entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 19, 2013. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, December 22, 2013 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends Sunday one hour prior to the service in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.
Roy was born December 19, 1957 in York, PA where he grew up and lived until joining the Navy at 18. He served in the Navy for 17 years as a Weapons Technician, receiving unit commendation awards, Sharpshooter, Battle E. Ribbon and National Defense Service Medal. After leaving the Navy, Roy worked for many years as a Fire Protection Specialist. He worked in several companies in Charleston, lastly Hiller Fire Systems. Roy had a passion for the Colts and fishing. He enjoyed playing cards and darts; loved his four cats and trips to the mountains with his family and friends. The family would like to thank his doctors and staff at MUSC and his Hospice workers for their kind and devoted care.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Luna Fry; son, George Fry (Ashley); Grandchildren, Alysa and Madison Fry; godchild, Taylor Grace Butler all of Charleston, SC; stepdaughter, Tabitha LaRoche (Alon) of Jacksonville, FL; siblings: Terrie (James) Cadiz, Jim (Hitomi) Fry, Russell Fry and Tina Swalinski all of York, PA.
