Roy Matthew Burley

Roy Matthew Burley, 82, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, died Monday, January 21, 2013. Roy was born on April 16, 1930 in State Line, Pennsylvania, son of the late Matthew Mark Burley and Ina Crites Burley. He graduated from Frostburg State University and received his Master's degree from George Washington University. Roy was a school administrator with the Prince George's County School system in Maryland. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Cross on Sullivan's Island.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Suzy) Patterson Burley, his daughter, Beth Burley Pilling (Fletcher) and two grandchildren, Sara and Lauren Pilling, all of Mount Pleasant, SC. Also surviving are two sisters, Ina Burley Lyons (Larry) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Patricia Burley Seay, of Rochester Hills, MI and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Burley (Hal) of Hilton Head, South Carolina. Mr. Burley was predeceased by two brothers, Jack Crites and Charles Richard (Bud) Burley.

The friends and relatives of Roy Burley are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Saturday, February 2, 2013 in Rodenberg Chapel at Franke at Seaside at 2pm. Reception to follow. Burial will be private.
