Rose Scalzo, 92, of Coconut Creek, FL, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024. A private ceremony for the family will be held at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Rose was born December 9, 1931, in Naples, Italy, daughter of Anna (Carotenuto) and Vincent Sorrentino. Rose immigrated to the U.S. at eight years old with her parents and younger identical twin sisters. She lived and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. After getting married to Emil DeWolff and giving birth to her two sons, Rose and her family moved from Brooklyn to Commack, NY and raised her sons there. She was a hard worker and owned and operated ice cream stores. Rose was also a great cook, especially of Italian food. For the last four and a half years of her life, Rose resided at Mount Pleasant Gardens where she was loved and well taken care of.
Rose is survived by a sister, Ann Cavaliere, nieces Kelly Cavaliere, Kim Cavaliere, Cynthia Albrecht, nephews Gregg Cavaliere, James Cavaliere and Douglas DeWolff. Rose was preceded in death by her sons, Kenneth DeWolff and Craig DeWolff and her sister, Grace DeWolff.
