Rose Moore Hook of North Charleston, SC, wife of Lawrence E. (Larry) Hook died Monday, September 22, 2014 at her home. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, September 25, 2014 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday in the Northwoods Chapel beginning at 1:30 pm until time of the service.
Rose was born in Lake City, SC, one of five children of the late James Bernard Moore and the late Pearl Dennis Moore. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of a civic club and ladies circles, a military wives' auxiliary and also a Sunday School teacher. She was very artistic making pottery and ceramics, drawing and painting; she also did needlepoint.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Lawrence E. (Larry) Hook, three daughters: Roseanne Hook Leeke and Amanda Hook Peden and her husband, A.C. and DeLene Hook Cleaver; five grandchildren: Dean Hook, Dawn Aguilar, Shelly Leeke, Casey Bernstein and Joshua Peden; great grandchildren; two sisters: Lona Bennett and Linda Passmore. She was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence E. Hook, Jr.
