Rosa "Rose" Jane Risher Hilton

Rosa “Rose” Jane Risher Hilton, 93, of Mount Pleasant, SC, peacefully left her earthly life and entered into Eternal Life on January 29, 2025.

Rose was born February 17, 1931, in Eutawville, SC, the daughter of Joseph Claude Risher and Annie Mizzell Risher. She graduated from Eutawville High School where she greatly enjoyed being on the basketball team. Rose was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother with a kind and caring soul. She was previously a member of Sandridge Baptist Church and taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, played piano and participated in the Ladies Missionary Society. She more recently was an active member of Hibben United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant for over 40 years where she much enjoyed the fellowship of her Sunday School class members. Rose found much joy in rooting on the Clemson Tigers and looking daily at the sports section of the local paper for any mention of them. She was retired from MUSC after working in financial services for 22 years.

Rose is survived by a daughter, Anne Marie Hilton Russell of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Kim Eric Hilton (Paige) of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Kyle Burke Russell (Walker), Kimberly Shay Patterson (Scott), Jane Kittrell Hilton and Lucy Risher Hilton; six great grandchildren, Taylor, Mary Walker, Burke and Shep Russell, Harbor Simpson and Hartley Rose Patterson all of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Miriam Singletary and Laura Cross; and two brothers, Roger Risher (Carol) and Derrell Risher (Jenny).

She was preceded in death by a son, Hiram Exo Hilton, Jr., a sister Josephine Singletary, her former husband Hiram Exo Hilton and long-time close friend and dance partner Fred Aldridge.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, February 2nd at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd, at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 AM before the service. Interment will follow at Sandridge Baptist Church Cemetery, 4677 State Road, Ridgeville, SC 29472 at 3:00 PM. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel.
