Ronnie Gene Allen

January 14, 1947 — December 2, 2020

Ronnie Gene Allen, 73, of Summerville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 2, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 11:00am at the City Church of Charleston, 913 Wappoo Rd. in Charleston.

Ronnie was born January 14, 1947 in Tyler, Texas, son of the late Horace Allen and Marie Sirmons Allen. Ronnie faithfully served his country in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He drove truck as an Independent Owner & Operator for almost 20 years. Ronnie was an avid antique automobile enthusiast, but his biggest love of all was to be able to spend time with his family.

He is survived by two sons, Jeffery D. Allen (Donna) and Michael Allen (Amber) of North Charleston, SC; grandchildren: Ian, Breona, Jacob, Austin, Bethany, David, Emmalee Allen and Lauren Shoebrook Zakowitz; great grandchildren: Jacob "J.J." Carter, Johnathan, Lilien and Ember Zakowitz; two brothers, Jerry D. Allen (Toni) and Howard Allen (Kathy) of Oil City, LA; sister, Donna White of Augusta, GA and a very special and helpful friend, Catherine Gitschier.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Esther Allen and one son, John David Shoebrook.
