Ron then worked for Bausch & Lomb in safety division sales for 23 years, and later owned and operated York Optical Company in Etters, PA. After retiring to SC in 2002, he worked part-time for Somerby Assisted Living and Charleston Bagel. Ron was a member of First United Methodist Church on the Isle of Palms, where he was active in the men's group and served on the board of trustees. He loved gardening, and time spent with friends as part of the "board of directors" coffee club at the local McDonald's. Ron was an avid Penn State football fan, but most of all was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Family time was so important to him. He never missed supporting his children's and grandchildren's activities.
