Ronald (Ronnie) Halavonich, 67, went home to his Savior, Jesus Christ on July 15, 2018, after battling congestive heart disease for seven years. Services will be private at the request of the family. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.
Ronnie was the third child of Mike and Ermine Halavonich. He resided in Charleston, graduating from Murray Vocational School and Trident Tech. He was employed as an electrician with the IBEW before retiring after 33 years in preventative maintenance at MUSC.
He met his devoted wife, Marilyn Maxwell Halavonich in 1980. They enjoyed 35 years of marriage, boating, and family. Ron was happiest when either he was telling corny jokes or arguing politics. Later he enjoyed history and western movies.
Surviving in addition to his wife are twin daughters Lindsey (Kellen) Easterby and Lauren Halavonich. He loved his girls and was extremely proud of their accomplishments. Also surviving are one brother, David Halavonich, and two sisters Sandra Medley and Carolyn (Ken) Werkheiser, sister in law Joanna Halavonich, sister-in law Sandra Maxwell, along with multiple nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Michael, parents, and his favorite Aunt Josie.
The family wants to express sincere thanks to Roper Home care nurse, Lisa Nelson, Doctors, Wills Geils, Steve Herndon, Osemwegie Emovon, and Bryan Frain. They were the team that kept him going with encouragement, patience, along with the best medical advice.
Thanks are also extended to all of Ronnie's friends who gave him moral support, especially -Paul, Mike, and Pam.
