Ronald Dean "Ron" McDowell

Ronald "Ron" Dean McDowell, 83, of Hanahan, South Carolina, husband of Carolyn McDowell entered into eternal rest Tuesday, September 5, 2017. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., North Area Chapel,, 2119 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, at 11:30 a.m.. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Ave, North Charleston. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. in Stuhr's North Area Chapel.

Ron was born May 15, 1934 in Leechburg, Pennsylvania, son of the late Elmer Dean McDowell and Marion Williams McDowell. He was a retired sale representative for Frito Lay, an Air Force veteran and a member of the Hanahan Exchange Club. Ron loved his family, friends, hunting and fishing and not necessarily in that order.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Carolyn, eight children, Ronnie McDowell (Cheryl), Susan Phillips (Carl), Beth Rousseau, Shawn McDowell (Nicole), Judy Andress (Bob), Sheila Hinson (Mike), David McClammy (DeAnn), Debi Carrier (Greg); niece, Terry McDowell; nephew, David McDowell; 24 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Ron was predeceased by his brother Gene McDowell.
