Roger Dale Hartley, 75, of Huger, South Carolina, husband of Amerine "Amy" Landing Hartley, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 4, 2025. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Roger was born on June 29, 1949, in Salley, South Carolina, to the late Randolph Hartley, Sr. and the late Reba Whittle Hartley. He dedicated his professional life to being a Warehouse Manager, a role that demonstrated his strong work ethic and leadership capabilities. Roger's legacy extends beyond his career; he was a passionate sports enthusiast who enjoyed coaching football, baseball, and softball. His love for the outdoors encompassed fishing, hunting, and boating, pursuits that brought him joy and allowed him to create lasting memories with family and friends. Most notably, Roger cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, finding immense happiness in their laughter and growth.
Roger is survived by his loving wife Amy; three daughters: Shelli Boris (Kevin) of Huger, SC; Nicole Hartley of Moncks Corner, SC; and Lauren Hartley of Cottageville, SC. He was the proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Alyssa Boris, Michael Pitts, Carolina Pitts, Benjamin Boris, James Pitts, Adalyn Pitts, Sawyer Taylor and Cooper Taylor. Roger is also survived by his three nephews: Scott Hartley, Justin Hartley, and Brandon Hartley; and a niece, Summer Hartley. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Antoinette Hartley; three brothers, Randy, Barney and Donald Hartley; and a beloved grandchild, Brody Taylor.
The family will hold a Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, located at 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 1:30 PM. Interment with military honors will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends in the Chapel from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
Roger Dale Hartley is remembered not only for his character and dedication to family but also for his passionate spirit and how he touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know him. His legacy will continue to inspire and be cherished by his loved ones for years to come.
