Roberta Neighbors Morton

Roberta "Bobby" Neighbors Morton, 91, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Charles Wright Morton entered into eternal rest Saturday, August 18, 2018. The family will receive friends Monday, August 20, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1157 Sam Rittenberg Blvd at 10:00 a.m. Her interment will follow in Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC at 1:00 p.m.

Roberta was born December 8, 1926 in Paris Island, South Carolina, daughter of the late Robert Matthew Neighbors and Agnes Neighbors Carter. She was a graduate of Winthrop College and was a retired school teacher of 21 years from Orange Grove Elementary School. Following her retirement, she was a volunteer tutor at Mary Ford Elementary School. Roberta was a member and ordained Deacon at Westminster Presbyterian Church, and was very active with Hands of Christ and other church organizations.

She is survived by her two daughters, Roberta McKeithan Taconet (Patrick) of Charleston, SC, Carolyn Morton Russo (Marc) of Northport, AL; sister-in-law, Margaret "Peg" Rogers Neighbors of Beaufort, SC; three grandchildren, Catherine Grace Robinson, Matthew Crockett Eaton, Elizabeth McKeithan Nettles; two great-grandchildren, Savannah June Sondles, Joseph Thomas Nettles. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Charles Henry McKeithan and her brother James Daniel Neighbors, Sr.
