Robert "Bob" Frank Taylor, 83, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Lois Brown Taylor, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. His memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 7, 2021 in Lutheran Church of The Redeemer, 714 Riverdale Drive. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
Bob was born June 29, 1938 in White Plains , New York, son of the late Robert Hutchison Taylor and the late Lorraine Bracalello Taylor. He proudly served in the National Guard and was an active member of his church. He graduated from Virginia Tech with an Industrial Engineering degree that was originally meant to be chemical engineering but was quietly changed after realizing that he would have to spend an entire semester learning how liquid flows through pipes. He spent the vast majority of his career at Lockheed Martin in Marietta. Bob enjoyed cooking for others, his twice smoked hams were a sought after treat that were given away to his friends and those in need with all the love that went into smoking them. He was fortunate to fall in love with and marry a girl from Charleston SC because that meant trips to Folly Beach where he would indulge his love for body surfing with his boys and hot sunny walks along the water's edge.
To know Bob was to know someone who was kind and generous, quick to laugh and always ready to pitch in to help. If he had it and you needed it, it was yours, no questions asked and came with no expectations. He loved, was loved and will be deeply missed.
Besides his wife, Lois, of 56 years, Bob is survived by his sons, Brad Taylor, (Kolleen Sawyer) and Kenn Taylor (Deborah Gates); and his sister, Tish Mowe.
Memorial donations in Bob's honor may be made to Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
