Robert Craig Sorrell

SGM Robert "Bob" Craig Sorrell, USA Ret., 75, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. His Funeral Service with military honors will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in the Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street at 10:00 am. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road.
Bob was born October 20, 1943 in Scottsbluff, NE, son of the late John Craig Sorrell and Helen Pierce Sorrell. Bob was a Sergeant Major in the US Army retired after 29 years, where he spent most of his time in Germany, South Korea and Virginia. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with three bronze service stars, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal. He loved playing trivia games, playing bridge and reading. He enjoyed traveling in his RV with his good dog, Cookie.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan S. Simmons of Goose Creek, SC and his dog, Cookie.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, Song Nam Sorrell and parents.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his name to the American Lung Association, Coastal Branch 44-A Markfield Drive, Charleston, SC, 29407 www.lungsc.org.
