Robert Knox Shields III, 52, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, August 24, 2021 after battling acute myeloid leukemia.
Robert was born December 13, 1968 at Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC, only son of the late Robert Knox Shields, Jr. and the late Velma Mellard Shields. He was predeceased by his sister, Tanya. Robert was a software engineer for the Department of the Navy after graduating from the College of Charleston.
Robert is survived by his wife, Rebecca (nee Smith).
The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses on 5 South at Roper Hospital. Your kindness and care these last few months has been invaluable.
An Irish Wake will be held in his honor on a future date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or please become a blood and bone marrow donor.
