Robert Edwin Shear, 80, of Georgetown, South Carolina, husband of Vera Drobit Shear entered into eternal rest Monday, January 29, 2024. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, February 5, 2024, in the Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, 265 N. Shelmore Blvd. at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends an hour before the service in Holy Ascension Orthodox Church. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Robert was born August 25, 1943 in Wheeling, West Virginia, son of the late Bertram Shear and the late Lavonda Stephens Shear. He was a civil servant, working as the Superintendent of buildings on Capitol Hill. A member of Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, he will be remembered for the way he loved God and his family.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Vera Drobit Shear of Georgetown, SC; two daughters, Kimberly Anne Swinney (Carter) Swinney of Memphis, TN, and Heather Ruth Shear of Huger, SC; three grandchildren, Eden Swinney, Taylor Jamison, and Alexander Wright; and sister, Mary Owens of Fredricksburg, VA.

Memorials may be made to Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, 265 North Shellmore Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
