Robert T. Riser

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of July 15, 2010, Robert T. Riser, Jr., widower of Gladys Newell Riser.  Residence, Charleston, SC.  The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service, Saturday, July 17, 2010 at one o'clock in Bethany United Methodist Church.  Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery.  Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Friday between five and seven o'clock.

Bob was born October 14, 1924 in Bowman, SC, the son of Robert T. Riser, Sr. and Carrie Crook Riser.  He was a graduate of Murray Vocational High School and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.  He served with the United States Army during World War II and was a member of Chicora Lodge #366, A.F.M., James Island American Legion Post #147 and the V.F.W. Post #445.  Mr. Riser retired as Design Field Engineer at the Charleston Naval Shipyard.

He is survived by one son: Robert Lawton Riser (Peggy) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one daughter: Lynn Riser Rogers (John) of Hartsville, SC; one sister: Vera R. Ford of Charleston, SC;  seven grandchildren: Amy R. Levine (John), Beth Rogers, Laurie J. Rogers, Robbie L. Riser, II (Ashley), Carolyn E. Riser and Meghan M. Riser, Joey T. Riser; one great grandchild: Macey Levine.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
