Robert Leslie Myer Jr., 67, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Carolyn Virginia Bryson Myer, entered into eternal rest Monday, March 18, 2024. His private memorial service, with Navy honors, will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 pm.
Born May 29, 1956 in Davenport, Iowa, he was a son of the late Robert Leslie Myer and Patricia Helen Myer. Affectionately known as Bob, was a dedicated, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. After graduating Oscar Smith High School he joined the United States Navy, where he retired from, as Master Chief after 20 years of service. He received a Master's degree in management from Troy State University in 1993 and retired again as a civilian contractor with Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) in 2011.
Bob's hobbies were traveling and golfing. Since he did not get much sea time in the Navy, his greatest passion was taking luxury cruises around the world with his wife Carol.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter, Wendy Bresnahan; son, Derek Thomas; two grandchildren, Justin Plummer, Owen Plummer; five siblings, Christopher Myer, Cynthia Cooper, Chery Steuhl, JoAnne Petterson, David Meyer.
