Robert Dwight Moseley, 76, of Summerville, SC, husband of Joyce Pauketat Moseley, entered into eternal rest Thursday, August 8, 2019. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 17, 2019 at 11 am in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A private family inurnment will take place in Mepkin Abbey at a later date.
Dwight was born November 14, 1942 in Durham, NC, son of the late Dr. Vince Moseley and Matilda Holleman Moseley. He grew up and lived most of his life in Charleston where he met and married his wife, Joyce. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served 12 years in the Air Force. His favorite tour of duty was in Australia, and he and his wife had the privilege of returning there for a visit where they shared his love of the country and its people.After retiring from SunCom as a Collection agent, he worked 10 years at Boone Hall Plantation as a tour guide. Tourists enjoyed listening to his local accent while he shared his knowledge of history, the city of Charleston and the state of South Carolina. He had a quick sense of humor and a strong sense of loyalty that was appreciated by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; his sisters: Esther (Henry) Lowndes of Charleston, Kelsey Cattles of Cottageville, Selma Nelson of Anna, TX, Julia Brandon of Charleston; and a brother, William Vince (Sandee) Moseley of Awendaw. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; his wife's brothers and sister, their families; and many friends who he loved as though they were family.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Raine and brother, Lawrence.
