Robert "Bob" Edgar Mims, 86, of Hanahan, SC, husband of Cleva Cumbee Mims, died at home, Friday, July 11, 2014, surrounded by his family. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 2:00 pm. Entombment with military honors will follow in Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Monday, July 14, 2014, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.
Bob was born May 15, 1928 in Lake City, SC, son of the late Edgar J. Mims and the late Emma I. Dudley. He was an Air Force veteran and retired from civil service. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement, especially spending time with his grandsons and taking cruises.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cleva C. Mims; daughter, Linda Packard (David) of Hanahan; two sons, Robert "Bobby" E. Mims Jr. (Kristy) of Summerville and David "Davy" Mims (Bobbie) of Hanahan; two grandchildren, Austin B. Mims and Nicolas R. Mims; twin brother, William E. Mims of James Island; nephew, Billy Mims; niece, Janice M. Bailey and numerous grand dogs. He was preceded in death by his sister, Virgina M. Wright.
