Robert Walker Lore, Sr., 90, of Mount Pleasant, SC, passed away on September 13, 2025.
Bob was born on December 27, 1934, to the late James Valentine Lore and Helen Wells Lore of Davidson, North Carolina.. After graduating from Blue Ridge Academy, he completed his studies at Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1957 with a degree in economics and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany with the 4th Armored Division. After an honorable discharge, he worked in the insurance claims industry for 40 years.
Not only was Bob a family man, but he was also actively involved in his community, holding positions like Scoutmaster and being part of the Order of the Arrow. He joined the Kiwanis Club of Hickory, NC, and became a National Rifle Association benefactor. In 1977, Bob was a founding member of the Mecklenburg Aquatic Club in Charlotte, NC. In retirement, he and his wife, Barbara, made their home in Mount Pleasant, SC.
Bob is survived by three children, Teri Thornton Young (Eugene) of Highlands, NC, Jennifer Lore Sullivan of Arlington, VI, Robert W. Lore, Jr. (Heather) of Greenville, SC; a niece Helen Pharr Psaila of Woodacre, CA; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara, and sister, Laura Gene Lore.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.
