Robert Alan Jenness, born October 30, 1944, in Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully in his hometown of Charleston. A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, Robert lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep loyalty, and a steadfast love for the people around him.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Jenness, and his daughter Lynn Jenness, both of Charleston. He is also survived by his sister, Jan Crook and brother-in-law, Roy Crook; niece, Beth (Jay) Sharp and nephews, Joey Crook, Greg Jenness, and Mike Jenness; son-in-law, Joey Malasky and grandchildren, Bradon Malasky and Rhiannon (Auston) Stephens; honorary family members, Pat Rumph, Cindy Rumph and Emma Rumph; sisters-in-law, Lynn (Brad) Roeglin and Janet (Dale) Klockow; and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will cherish his memory.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Sally Malasky; parents, James and Leona Jenness; brother, James Jenness; parents-in-law, Frank and Hazel Johnson, sister-in-law, Marjory (Don) Joswick; and lifelong friends, Eben Rumph and Ed Graham.
Robert was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Dungannon Hunting Club for many years where he made cherished friendships and memories. He also enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, bird watching, and tinkering in his yard and garage.
Robert will be remembered for his work ethic, great sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. His presence enriched the lives of all who knew him, and his absence leaves a profound and lasting void.
His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2025 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
