Robert deSaussure Hunt

September 19, 1925 — September 10, 2011

Robert "Bob" deSaussure Hunt, 85, of Hanahan, SC., passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011.   Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, Friday, September 16, 2011 at 11 AM.  Interment with military honors will be held in Riverview Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel on Thursday, between 6 and 8 PM.


Mr. Hunt was born on September 19, 1925 in Charleston, SC, the son of the late Otis Elias Hunt and Leah Jackson Gordin.  Bob was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War.  He served his country proudly in the Coast Guard, Navy and the U.S. Air Force. He was actively involved in youth athletics in the North Area. Bob was a member of the Charleston Rifle Club, the B.P.O. Elks #242, and Oaks Country Club. He was a member of Portside Baptist Church.            


Bob is survived by his three sons, Robert M. "Dink" and his wife Loretta Hunt of Hanahan, Tony and his wife Kim Hunt of Ladson, and Kenny  and his wife Charlene Hunt of Charleston; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Krystle, Nicole, Kelsey, Robert, Julie and Ryan and longtime companion, Louise Klimowicz.  He is preceded in death by his brother Otis Hunt.


Flowers will be accepted at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Veteran's Victory House, 2461 Sidneys Road, Walterboro, SC  29488.
