Robert Milton Herbert

Robert Milton Herbert, 88, of Jamestown, South Carolina, husband of the late Doris Martin Herbert, entered into eternal rest Saturday, February 17, 2024. His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 2:00 pm.  Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel from 1:00 pm until time of the service. 

Bob was born June 8, 1935 in Neptune, New Jersey. He joined the US Navy at the age of 16, serving in the Korean War, and later served in the US Air Force. He was a retiree of the Charleston Naval Shipyard, where he worked for over three decades.  

Bob was a gifted and award-winning artist, sharing his painting and pen and ink drawing talents with his grandson. He also became an avid coin collector. He was a skilled craftsman who filled his home with handmade treasures that will continue to be enjoyed for generations to come.  He was a member of St. James Methodist Church in Goose Creek for many years, and Hibben United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant for many years before moving to Goose Creek.  

Bob is survived by his son, Robert Eric Herbert (Jo-Dee) of Jamestown, SC; his daughter, Catherine Herbert Clark of Mt. Pleasant, SC; five grandchildren, Eric "Bo" Herbert (Amanda), Josh K. Herbert (Laurin), Brandee Adams (Justin), Caitlin Graham (Keith), and Cameron Clark. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Sadie, Bonnie, Bo, Abby, Kip, Graham, Ellis, Thomas, and Harrison. He was just recently preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Doris.
