Robert Earl Harken

Robert Earl Harken, Jr, 70, of Atlanta, GA., formerly of Charleston, SC passed away Thursday January 12, 2017 at his home. There will be a Visitation Saturday January 21, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnel Parkway,from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. His Graveside Memorial Service will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Rd at 2:30 p.m. Charleston, SC.

Born in Charleston, SC. on June 14, 1946, Robert is the son of the late Robert Earl Harken and the late Margaret Keane Harken. He had lived in Atlanta, GA since 1971. Robert worked at Northside Hospital in Atlanta as a registered nurse for many years since receiving his RN Degree from Dekalb College School of Nursing.

Robert was a loving friend to many; he was an ardent dog lover and loved growing flowers and plants.

He is survived by his devoted friend and companion, James Wiley of Atlanta; sister, Carol Anne Harken and her son, Ryan C. Harken; a brother, Frederick R. Harken and his sons, William Wyndham, John R. Harken, and Robert P. Harken, all of Charleston. Robert was predeceased by a sister, Peggy Harken.
