Robert N. Hammond III, 66, of Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Rae Murray Hammond, entered into eternal rest Monday, September 22, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 714 Riverdale Drive at 11:00 am. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.

Bob was born November 19, 1947 in Greenville, South Carolina, son of Emogene Horton Hammond and the late Robert N. Hammond, Jr. Bob was a proud graduate of The Citadel, Class of 1969. He was a retired Local Area Network Coordinator with the S.C. Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. Bob was a member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Charleston Rifle Club, Citadel Alumni, SCVR Retiree Association, Thrivent Financial and was President of Church Council.

He is survived by his mother, Emogene Hammond of Greenville, SC; two daughters, Michelle Hammond Kenney (Jeff) of Summerville, SC and Amy Hammond Berman (Roger) of Charleston, SC; four grandchildren, Andrew, Jordan, Grace and Sophie; three brothers, Dr. Lyn Hammond (Arlene), Richard Hammond (Brenda), and Greg Hammond (Tammy) all of Greenville, SC; and a special friend, Paula Ruark of Columbia, SC.
