Entered into eternal rest on the 14th of May was Robert Grodin, husband of Debra Harper Grodin, of Ravenel, SC. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services at graveside in Beaufort National Cemetery, Wednesday May 16th at twelve o'clock noon.
Mr. Grodin, the son of Herbert Isaac Grodin and Lillian Supoznick Grodin, was born July 19, 1946 in Bronx, NY. Bob was a decorated Vietnam War veteran earning a Bronze Star with V Device and three Oak Leaf Clusters, Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, and Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Star Device. He was a Combat Infantryman, Master Parachutist and qualified in Ordance Disposal. Bob was a member of the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Historical Association.
Bob loved life, often taking the road less traveled, and found excitement and adventure along every path. He attended the University of Kentucky and worked for Solomon Brothers, security providers for the World Trade Center. He also worked in Africa and South and Central America providing personal security to a variety of high profile individuals and personal security training to several foreign government agencies. Additionally, he worked on developing an oil pipeline across Panama, as well as selling everything from automobiles to tugboats to airplanes. Bob was a compassionate and giving man who will be sorely missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of Ravenel, SC; one daughter: Dae L. Grodin of Erlanger, KY; one son: Stephen Harper of Charleston, SC; three brothers: Alan Grodin (Anne) of Beverly Hills, CA, Steve Grodin (Sally) of Masten Lake, NY and Matthew Grodin (Debby) of Columbus, NJ; one sister: Phyllis Bruno (Bob) of Somerset, NJ; many nieces, nephews and extended family; former spouse: Faye Mitchell Creighton of Charlottesville, VA; three special friends: Bella, Leroy, and Daisy.
