On Sunday, March 14, 2021 Robert (Bob) William Green passed from this life to his eternal home surrounded by his loving family at home in Charleston, SC.
Bob was born on February 2, 1956 in Kingston, Ontario, son of the late William Green and Margaret Frances Green. After his citizenship to the United States, he resided in Stratford, CT, attending Bunnell High School, graduating in 1974. He attended Parks College where he received a degree in Aerospace Engineering. His notable engineering career ensued at General Electric Aircraft Engines where he eventually specialized in airplane crash investigation and flight safety. After 25 years, he worked for the Federal Aviation Administration in Burlington, MA, where he continued to advocate for flight safety. He practiced a high standard of excellence and demonstrated great integrity throughout his professional career.
Bob met and married his wife Sue after college, settling in Cincinnati, OH where they were blessed with three wonderful children and three golden retrievers. He was a man with a big heart, devoted to the care of his family including his parents and siblings.
Bob traveled extensively in his early career and loved to share stories of his international journeys. He possessed great humor, intellect, wisdom, and a generous heart. He lived life fully and with great thanksgiving, demonstrating great courage along the way.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne; his son Matthew, daughter-in-law Nicole & two grandchildren Daniel and Lucas; his son Jonathan, daughter-in-law Heather and grandson Michael; his daughter Elisabeth; his siblings Pamela Hauben, Thomas Green and John Green, and other extended family who love him and celebrate his life.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday March 26, 2021, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC. His service will be live streamed and you can view it by using this link https://youtu.be/BKSZ_qb6Cww.
