Robert Laurie Graham

Robert Laurie Graham, 86, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, husband of the late Lou Mina Rogers Graham, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 7, 2014, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Monday, April 7, 2014, from 1:00 pm until time of the service.

Robert was born February 19, 1928 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late William Graham and Jessie Lang Graham, and brother of the late Helen Madison of Isle of Palms, SC. He was a graduate of Fork Union Military Academy and went on to attend The Citadel. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the News and Courier after 40 years as a pressman. He was a Mason for over 50 years, having earned his 32nd Degree, and also a Shriner for over 50 years. A hard working man, Robert first and foremost loved his family.

He is survived by his children; Myrna Garris of Dillon, SC and her children, Jackie Asencio of Leesburg, VA and Jack Ray Garris, Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Seattle, WA; Pat Madercic and her husband, Mike, of Summerville, SC and their children, Vernon Grooms III of Columbia, SC, Carol Davis of San Diego, CA and Tammy Leegette of Summerville, SC; Robert "Buddy" L. Graham, Jr. of North Charleston, SC; and William J. Graham Sr. and his wife, Sherrie, of Goose Creek, SC and their children, Whitney Miles of Charleston, SC, William J. Graham, Jr. of Goose Creek, SC, and Jessica Graham of Goose Creek, SC; seven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Janet Brown of Silver Springs, MD.
