Baker
December 11, 1942 – June 10, 2026
Robert Francis Baker, 83, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Born on December 11, 1942, in Florence, South Carolina, Robert was the son of the late Margaret Cannon Tiencken and Robert Francis Baker. He built a distinguished career as a Senior Advisor, earning a reputation for sound judgment, quiet integrity, and counsel that others sought out and trusted. He carried himself with a steadiness and warmth that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him, and he brought genuine curiosity and good humor to the people and conversations around him.
Robert will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Eliza Holladay of Washington, D.C.; his son, Belton Baker of Palm Beach, FL; his three grandchildren, Cannon Holladay, Charlton Holladay, and Belton Baker Jr.; his brother, John Tiencken; and the many friends and colleagues whose lives he touched along the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Tiencken. Robert now joins those who have gone before him, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, wisdom, and endless curiosity.
