Robert Steve Fralix

Robert Steve Fralix, 74, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Shirley Mae Brokaw Fralix entered into eternal rest Saturday, May 27, 2023. His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Church of the Good Shepherd, 1393 Miles Dr #5163, Charleston, SC 29407 at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel.  Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel. 

Robert was born June 28, 1948 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late James Theodore Fralix, Sr and Ellen Hendricks.  After being honorably discharged from the Navy following his service in the Vietnam War, he worked in printing at the News and Courier for many years before leaving to pursue careers at Lockheed Martin and CIGNA Printing.  He went on to retire from Charleston County Public Works.  Robert was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge, a vestry member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, and a respected member of the community. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Shirley Mae Brokaw Fralix; son, Robert S Fralix, Jr. (Wendy); two daughters, Michele Brownlee (Jim) and Bonnie Walton (Matt); grandchildren Kaylee Reeder (Griffin), Christy, Kimber (Colton), Chandler, Hannah, Jillian, and Caroline; great-grandson Elliott; brother, Henry Fralix (Ann); brother-in-law Bobby Payne, and four sisters, Marlene F. Knight (Melvin), Annette F. Leonard (d. Charles), sister-in-law Deloris Fralix, and Deborah F. Vergere (John). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Fralix and Herbert Fralix; sisters, Barbara Hill and Joan F. Payne, and grandson, Connor Walton.  

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Pattison’s Academy, or the Charles Webb Center.
