Robert L. "Bobby" Eaddy, Sr., 85, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, husband of Myrtle Lee Denney Eaddy died Thursday, August 3, 2017. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, August 6, 2017 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 3:00 p.m. Interment, Wilson Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bobby was born February 11, 1932 in Prospect, South Carolina, son of the late Cullen L. and Essie B. Eaddy. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was a mechanic in his younger years before becoming employed at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Bobby was a member of Chaparral Free Will Baptist Church in Moncks Corner. He loved horses and fishing and was a devoted member to his church and church family.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, Myrtle, he is survived by his children, Robert L. Eaddy, Jr. (Frankie) and Monique Betzen (Paul); four grandchildren, Cawren Brown, Clinton Eaddy, Dalton Betzen, and Robert Cole Betzen; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Eaddy; and sister, Rachel Hanna.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Livingston Eaddy and Vaughn Evans.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made the Veterans Victory House 2461 Sidneys Road, Walterboro, SC 29488, where Bobby spent the last year of his life being cared for by their wonderful staff, nurses, doctors, and volunteers.
