Robert Andrew Draughn, 87, of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, devoted husband of 63 years to Donna Dingle Draughn, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Born on April 22, 1938, in Wilson, North Carolina, Robert was the son of the late Charles Draughn and the late Lucy Lancaster Draughn.

He is survived by his wife Donna, and two daughters, Sally Draughn Pascutti (Jim) and Margaret Draughn O'Hanley (Dan), both of Charleston. He is loved by his five grandchildren, Abby Pascutti Barkley (Key) of Greenville, SC, Annie Pascutti Tuchfarber (Will) of Chicago, IL, Joe Pascutti, and Maggie and Adam O’Hanley. He also had the pleasure of enjoying his great granddaughters, Lucy and Anne James.

Robert had a distinguished career as the Chairman of the MUSC Dental Materials Department, dedicating his professional life to pioneering medical applications of composite materials. Nothing was ordinary to Bobby Draughn, and he constantly wondered, pondered, and investigated the world around him. He leaves his family a legacy of life-long learning and the love of a good ramble.

Service will be at Sunrise Presbyterian Church on Sullivan’s Island on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 2:00. Family will receive visitors immediately afterwards in the fellowship hall.

Memorials may be made to the Friends of Charleston National Parks to honor his love of wandering the Lowcountry. https://www.friendscnp.org
