Robert Evon Davis

Robert Evon Davis 95, of Walterboro, South Carolina, widower of Judy Diane Grabda Davis entered into eternal rest Monday, April 6, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 10, 2015 in Bethany United Methodist Church, James Island, 1853 Maybank Hwy. at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Interment will be held with Military Honors in Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC, Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC.

Robert was born August 20, 1919 in Utica, Mississippi, son of the late Robert Preston Davis and the late Marie Broadwater Davis. He served as a Chief Steward with the U.S. Navy until his retirement and also retired from the Citadel after 26 years of service. He was a Member of the Masonic Blue Lodge # 396, Scottish Rite for over 50 years, Charter Member and member of Bethany Methodist Church.

He is survived by his friend, Linda Wilson (Frank) of Charleston, SC; son, Robert Evans Davis, Jr; two nieces, Donna Lege-Alston (LA), and Janice Boren Jones (MS); two nephews, Lester Perrin (TX) and Darrell Hebert (LA);. both of FL; brother, Craig Davis of Crystal Springs, MS. He is preceded in death by his wife and his daughter, Rose Marie Hale of Pensacola, Fl, sisters, Ida Faye Davis boren hebert, Ruth Davis Sorrells, Dimple Davis, Tina Davis; brothers Albert Davis and Barney Davis and nephew, Thomas "Tommy" Boren.
