Robert "Bobby" William McClary, Sr.

Robert “Bobby” William McClary, Sr., entered into eternal rest on September 8, 2023. His funeral service will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023 in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5 Clifford Street at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the churchyard. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel. 

Bobby was born September 12, 1942, in Sumter, SC, the son of the late James Russell McClary, Sr. and Hettie Louise Gerisch McClary.

Bobby graduated from Eau Claire High School, Columbia, SC and worked in the automotive and industrial parts industry for over 40 years. He was a former member of the German Friendly Society, The Arion Society and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Charleston.

Surviving are his sons: Robert William McClary, Jr. (Fran) of Irmo, SC and Brian David McClary, of Columbia, SC; brother, Samuel McClary (Linda); two grandchildren: Amanda Ellen McClary and Robert William McClary III (Natalee); and two great-granddaughters: Claira McClary and Amelia McClary. Bobby is also survived by a treasured and special friend of over 14 years, Mary McNeil.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McClary was predeceased by his wife, Rebecca Lesemann McClary and his brother, James Russell McClary, Jr.
