Robert (Bob) Delano
Preis
January 11, 1940 – April 9, 2026
Robert (Bob) Delano Preis passed away quietly at his home in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, on April 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by hard work, quiet devotion, and an unwavering commitment to family.
Born and raised in Baltimore as the fifth of thirteen children, Bob was the definition of a stand-up guy, bringing his old-school values to everything he did. With a lifelong career in the trucking industry, he was reliable, hardworking, and steady-the foundation he used to build a great life and instill the same values in his family.
Bob brought immense joy to those around him with his outgoing personality; as many would say, “he never met a stranger.” His creative, problem-solving mind was always at work, able to fix anything using duct tape, WD-40, and bungee cords (IYKYK). He loved the outdoors-the water, catching and eating crabs, fishing-and a good meal followed by a great dessert to satisfy the sweet tooth he had his entire life. His presence made the world brighter for everyone who had the pleasure of being near him.
Above all, Bob was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Veronica (Roni); his children, sons Robb and Colin (Kristin), and daughter Lindy (Joseph); and his grandchildren, Rohan and Sophie, who will remember him as a steady presence, a provider, a jokester, and someone who showed his love through action rather than words.
Bob’s legacy is one of commitment-to his work, his family, and especially to the woman he loved. Veronica was the love of his life through 50 years of marriage. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him and remembered for the steadfast care he gave so freely.
A remembrance will be held at Somerby Mt. Pleasant (date to be decided), with a private gathering for his family.
Arrangements are by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel. A memorial message may be sent to the family on our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com.
