Robert "Bob" Angus Evans Sr., 87, of Hanahan, SC, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 4, 2023. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc.  Northwoods Chapel at 2:00 pm. The interment will be private at Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 1pm prior to the service.

Bob was born March 5, 1936 in Johns Island, SC, son of Jessie Lee Mazzell "Meme" and Baynard C. Evans.  

He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Lilliette (Esclavon) Evans, his son Robert Jr. and one grandchild. He is survived by his son, Michael (Marsha) Evans; daughter, Debra (Victor) Rimari; siblings: William (Bobbie) Evans and Deloris Hammerstedtt; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

An avid outdoorsman, his greatest joy was to hunt and fish the waterways of the lowcountry to cook up a feast for his family and friends. Known affectionately as "Scuba Bob", he retired from Rhode Construction as a superintendent. Bob was a talented craftsman and his restoration work can be seen in historic homes, businesses and restaurants across the Charleston Peninsula. 

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to a charity of one's choice.
