Robert Franklin Blakely, 89, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026. Beloved husband of Judith Robinson Blakely, Robert was born on August 29, 1937, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to the late J. Frank Blakely and Freddie Allen Blakely.

A proud graduate of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and the ROTC program, Robert served with distinction in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he enjoyed a fulfilling career as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Pfizer, retiring after 40 dedicated years.

Robert was an active volunteer aboard the USS Yorktown and nurtured his passion for music by playing Dixieland Jazz as part of a band for many years.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Judith, and his nieces, Cindy Boatwright (Michael), Carolyn Haar, and Sherry Blackford (Henry); along with his nephews, PJ Boatwright (Cathy) and Chip Allen (Julia).

A gathering will be held at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd., on October 17, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, SC.
