Robert Lynn Bishop, 73, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Donna Brothers Bishop entered eternal rest Thursday, February 8, 2024 at his home. A private service will be held at a later date.
Robert was born November 25, 1950 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, son of the late Walter Glenn Bishop and the late Mary Lee Seabaugh Bishop. After attending the University of Missouri, where he played football on a scholarship, Robert built a career in the lowcountry as a developer and general contractor. Some of his developments included Isle of Palms Marina, Shem Creek Inn and building over 5,000 homes in the lowcountry. Robert enjoyed golfing, hunting and playing cards with his buddies. He will be remembered for the way he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Donna J. Bishop of Charleston, SC; daughter, Angela "Angie" B. Libhart (Brad) of Charleston, SC; son, Bryan Amlingmeyer of Summerville, SC; brother, Bill Bishop of Cape Girardeau, MO; sister, Cinda Parker (Greg) of Maitland, FL; four grandchildren, Cole Libhart of Charleston, SC, Gabe Libhart of Charleston, SC, John Carter Amlingmeyer of Tampa, FL, and Hart Amlingmeyer of Bay St Louis, MS; two nieces, Beth McClure of St. Louis, MO, Katelyn Shuford of Park City, UT; two nephews, TJ Bishop of , Cape Girardeau, MO, Jamison Parker of Houston TX; He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Cathy Bishop.
