Robert Reynolds Bentz, 65, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Rosamond "Pinky" Bee Bentz entered into eternal rest Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at his home. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 in St. John's Parish Church, 3673 Maybank Highway at 3:00 p.m. Interment, churchyard. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel.

Robert was born September 14, 1949 in Charleston, SC, son of John H. Bentz and Cornelia "June" DeHeer Walpole Bentz Dickerson. He was a graduate of Murray Vocational High School and a member of St. John's Parish Church of Johns Island. He worked for Lipton Tea and designed the first tea-harvester in the United States. Robert was also owner, designer and builder of Bentz-craft Boats.

He is survived by his wife, Rosamond "Pinky" Bentz of Charleston, SC, and her parents Captain Sandiford Stiles Bee, Jr. and Rosamond Ravenel Bee; children, Sarah B. Mullins (Jason) of Charleston, SC, Robert "Bobby" R. Bentz, Jr. (Allison) of Charleston, SC, Staff Sgt. Daniel A. Bentz of Charleston, SC, and Michael A. Bentz of Charleston, SC; four grandchildren, Ava and Macy Bentz and Anni and Jason Mullins; three brothers, John H. Bentz, III of Wadmalaw Island, SC, Thomas Eugene Bentz (Ellen) of Johns Island, SC, and Charles Walpole Bentz (Lee) of North Charleston, SC; three brother-in-laws, Stiles, Robert, and Bill; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caris HealthCare Hospice, 1064 Gardner Rd., Ste. 313, Charleston, SC 29407.
