Robert "Bubba" M. Barrs, Jr., 68, of North Charleston, SC, died Thursday, February 24, 2011, in a local hospital.

Born January 1, 1943 in Charleston, SC he was the son of Frances Margaret Buck Barrs and the late Robert Marion Barrs, Sr.  He was a former sheet metal fabricator at the Charleston Sheet Metal Company and also owned and operated a painting company.  He enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Barrs is survived by his mother, Frances Barrs; daughter, Linda "Mimi" Barrs; sons, "Smokey" Robert M. Barrs III and Johnny Barrs; sister-in-law, Linda Barrs and brother, Earl Barrs all of North Charleston, SC; sisters, Joyce Catlin and her husband Michael of Summerville, SC and Valerie Hudson and her husband Robbie of Summerville, SC; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Monday, February 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM.  Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Sunday between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
