Robert "Bob" LeGette Alexander

Robert "Bob" LeGette Alexander, Jr., 88, of Mount Pleasant, SC, husband of Ann Alexander (Foster) entered into eternal rest Thursday, September 16, 2021. A private service will be held in Columbia, SC at the First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Bob was born September 13, 1933 in Brevard, North Carolina, son of the late Robert LeGette Alexander and the late Elizabeth Murchison Alexander. He was raised in Lumberton, NC and graduated from Greenwood High School in Greenwood, SC. After graduating Davidson College, Bob was a Marine officer receiving an honorable discharge and then starting his banking career. As a graduate of the Stonier School of Banking, Bob was an executive with several banks in Columbia and Spartanburg over his 30 years in banking.

Bob was actively involved in various civic organizations which included serving as the President of the Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce. After retirement from banking, Bob joined the economic development team of the Spartanburg Chamber helping recruit among many others, BMW to South Carolina. Bob also was a dedicated servant of the Lord as a deacon, elder, and treasurer at First Presbyterian Church Spartanburg.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Alexander of Mount Pleasant, SC; daughter, Isabel Foster Alexander of Isle of Palms, SC; two sons, Robert LeGette Alexander III (Pam) of York, SC and Charles Foster Alexander of Spartanburg, SC; and three grandchildren, Robert "Lee" LeGette Alexander IV (Taylor), Hannah Mils Huskey (Collin) and Andie Cooper Alexander. He was preceded in death by his brother, Hugh Murchison Alexander.
