Rita de Cassia Covington

Rita de Cassia Covington, 64, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, wife of Leonard D. Covington entered into eternal rest Friday, December 22, 2023. Her service will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel.

Cassia was born May 21, 1959 in Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais, Brazil daughter of the late Djalma Costa and the late Joalzir Martins Amorim Costa. She was the loveliest kind of magic. She started every morning with a strong cup of coffee and a devotional. She was passionate about her faith and loved reading her bible. Cassia loved fiercely and unapologetically, always putting family first. She was so in love with her husband Leny and the adventures the two constantly shared. She never missed an opportunity to show her love to her children and grandchildren, who were spoiled endlessly. Cassia made sure every person who sat in her salon chair became a dear friend, and left feeling loved and beautiful. Her endless love, support, and kindness cast a light that will always shine down on us.

She is survived by her husband Leny Covington; children: Sabrina Macedo (Mike Cope) of Charleston, SC, Orion Costa of Olympia, WA and Malique Rankin (Ryan Casey) of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren, Sophia Smith, Olivia Smith and Mahaley Dear; siblings, Marcia Mello (Oswaldino) of Brazil, Marcos Costa of Brazil, Ieda Gomes of Lake worth, FL and Jorge Costa (Iolana) of Boca Raton, FL; and many loved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Carlos Gomes.
