Richard Dennis Vesel

Richard Dennis Vesel, 80, of Cross, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 28, 2022. All services are private. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Richard was born May 6, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Frederick H. Vesel and Blanche P. Vesel. Richard worked for the Kinney Shoe Corporation for many years, working his way up through the ranks as a store salesman and manager, district manager and finally as an international apparel buyer for Susie's Casuals and Kinney Shoes in their New York City Offices. Richard served as a landing craft operator attaining the rank of Spec 5 in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Richard was known for his love of dogs and children and for his great sense of humor by his friends and family alike. He will be truly missed by all.

He is survived by his sister, Nadine A. Vesel; brother, LTC Fred H. Vesel, USAF, Ret. (Julie); nephew, Dr. Travis P. Vesel (Jocelyn); and niece, Lindsay A. Catka (SFC Michael Catka, US Army, Ret.); as well as 9 grand nieces and nephews.

The family would like to recognize and give thanks to the Patriot Hospice workers and the entire staff and health care providers at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC for providing care, comfort and friendship to Richard for the last three years.
