Richard A. Toglio, Sr.

Richard A. Toglio, Sr., 75, of Goose Creek, SC, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, September 23, 2014. His memorial service will be held Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel. The family will receive friends from Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m at the funeral home. Burial services will be held later at sea.

Richard was born June 18, 1939 in Charleston, SC, son of Joseph H. Toglio and Vivian Hunter H. Toglio. He was a former Charleston City Police Officer and became handicapped at the age of 24. Richard pursued his education at the University of South Carolina where he later earned his Ph.D. He was a US Air Force veteran and a former member of The Mayors and Government Council for the Handicapped. He retired from Trident Technical College where he served as the former Department Head of the Testing and Counseling Department.

He is survived by his son, Richard A. Toglio, Jr. of Goose Creek, SC; daughters, Joyce Ann T. Crisp of Collettsville, NC and Angela M. Toglio of Jacksonville, FL; four great-grandchildren; and nine grandchildren.
