Richard Don Tarleton, Sr., 86, of Charleston, SC, husband of Jeanne Parnell Tarleton, entered into eternal rest Friday, June 17, 2016. His private graveside funeral service will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.
Richard was born February 17, 1930 in Sumter, South Carolina, son of the late James W. Tarleton and Zoula Morton Tarleton. He graduated from Dreher High School, Columbia, SC and attended the University of South Carolina. Rick retired as a manager for Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph and was a member of Bell Pioneers.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeanne; two sons: Richard Don Tarleton, Jr. (Laney) of Wadmalaw Island, and Philip Craig Tarleton of Johns Island; two grandchildren: Richard Don Tarleton, III, and Angela Marie Maguire; and a great-grandson, Logan Maguire. He was preceded in death by two brothers: James W. Tarleton, and Robert M. Tarleton.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association SC Chapter, 2090 Executive Hall Road, Ste. 130, Charleston, SC 29407.
